Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

Program Educational Objectives (PEO) otherwise known as Graduate Profiles (GP). A PEO can be defined as a broadly meaningful statement describing what the graduate expects to achieve at least five years prior to graduation. Department of Soil Science has three PEOs, namely the PEO of knowledge, skills and character. PEO of Department Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sebelas Maret is:

  1. Mastering knowledge to analyze tropical soil properties, its problems, and solutions in accordance with scientific rules by using science and technology with integrated sustainable soil management (ISSM) approach.
  2. Having skills to analyze, evaluate, and develop innovation in tropical soil use according to its ability and suitability and becoming aware to the global problems by using science and technology with integrated sustainable soil management (ISSM) approach.
  3. Having attitudes of honesty, integrity, responsibility, self-performance, teamwork, leadership, and entrepreneurship, concern to community and environment, and becoming able to develop local, national, and international networks according to the field of tropical farming with integrated sustainable soil management (ISSM) approach.

The Soil Science Study Program (PSIT) graduates with practitioner and researcher profiles can work as civil servants in local governments, Agriculture Service, ATR-BPN, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, Ministry of Research and Technology, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, BAPPEDA, BAPPENAS, Agricultural Research and Development, PT Perkebunan Nusantara, Government Bank, and teacher. Profiles of graduate managers generally work as private employees in oil palm plantations, cocoa plantations, tea and coffee plantations, rubber plantations, mining companies, mining companies, fishing companies, state-owned enterprises, and private banks. Meanwhile, the profiles of consultants and entrepreneurs generally work independently in the field of tropical agriculture by holding the principles of integrated sustainable soil management (ISSM).
